Handbook & Fund Raising Policy

Gifts given for Nehemiah Network short term mission trips are tax deductible contributions donated to Word of Life.  Tax-deductible contributions donated to Word of Life Nehemiah Network are not refundable according to U.S. and Canada tax regulations and are used at the discretion of WORD OF LIFE Nehemiah Network.

Cancelled Trip


In the event that Word of Life cancels a trip, the tax deductible contributions donated to Word of Life Nehemiah Network will be kept within the missionary endeavors of Short Term Missions Department of Word of Life.  Each individual will be contacted to discuss the situation and options. 

Participant Withdrawal


In the event that a participant withdraws from a trip or is not able to participate for whatever reason, the tax deductible contributions donated to Word of Life Nehemiah Network for the trip account will be kept within the missionary endeavors of Short Term Missions Department of Word of Life. If there are excess funds from the overall trip budget, Word of Life reserves the right to transfer the funds to another short term mission project.  The participant will be contacted to discuss the situation and options.

Excess of Funds


In the event a participant raises contributions in excess of the trip expenses and the overall trip budget comes out healthy, WORD OF LIFE Nehemiah Network reserves the right and may choose to transfer funds to another short term mission project trip.

If there are excess funds once a trip is completed, these funds may be transferred to another short term mission project.  You may request to participate in the next project the funds are transferred to.  However, you must understand that the funds are used by discretion of WORD OF LIFE Nehemiah Network and are not controlled by the trip participant or the donor.

The WORD OF LIFE Nehemiah Network department will make a decision as to how these funds will be used.  Excess funds can be used toward purchasing medical supplies such as “MAP Packs” or used to supply project work funds.

If there are excess funds in a trip account, a trip participant may request to be reimbursed for the out of pocket trip-related expenses such as; vaccinations, gasoline (not mileage), airfare, tolls, parking, passport fee, visa fee, postage, stationery, envelopes, or printing.  The Nehemiah Network short term mission department reserves the right to approve or reject any and all trip related expenses submitted.
